The procedure takes about 45–60 minutes and is usually performed under local anaesthesia. I make a tiny incision hidden in the natural crease under the chin and remove fat evenly with fine micro-cannulas, shaping the area to define the jawline and the angle between the chin and the neck.

My technique focuses on evenness and definition. Removing fat unevenly or too aggressively can lead to irregularities, so I work carefully layer by layer and leave a thin, smooth layer of fat under the skin for a natural result.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Double Chin Removal?

The best candidates for submental liposuction have fullness under the chin despite a healthy weight, reasonably firm skin and a stable weight for at least six months. Many are in their twenties to forties, but older patients can also benefit, sometimes with combined treatments.

Liposuction alone may not be the best option if your main concern is loose skin, if your chin is set back, or if you plan to lose a lot of weight. In these cases, a combination or a different treatment usually gives a better result.
