Dr. Akın Şahin is a facial plastic surgeon based in Istanbul, Turkey, and a specialist in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) and Head & Neck Surgery. He holds both the European Board of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery (EBEORL-HNS) certification and the Turkish Board of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery certification, and he is a full member of the Facial Plastic Surgery Association. Having performed more than 4,000 surgical procedures, he has extensive experience across the full range of facial surgery, including otoplasty (ear aesthetics), buccal fat removal (cheek contouring), rhinoplasty (nose aesthetics), face and neck lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and ear reshaping. Dr. Akın Şahin combines detailed knowledge of facial anatomy and function with an aesthetic, patient-centered approach. Education and Professional Training

Dr. Akın Şahin graduated from the English-language program of Marmara University School of Medicine in 2013. In 2014, he began his residency training in Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery at the same university. Following five years of intensive training, he successfully passed the national board examination in 2019 and was awarded the title of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery Specialist. He has been practicing as a European Board Certified Surgeon since 2023, after passing the European Board Examination of Otorhinolaryngology

After completing his specialty training, Dr. Şahin worked at several public and private hospitals. He also served as a faculty member at Marmara University School of Medicine, contributing significantly to the education of both medical students and resident physicians. Building on this academic background and clinical experience, he later established his own private practice in Kadıköy, Istanbul, where he continues to treat patients today.

Placing great importance on academic development, Dr. Akın Şahin’s research has been published in national and international peer-reviewed journals (SCI and SCI-E indexed) both during and after his residency training. He is the author of more than ten scientific articles on topics such as cochlear implantation, ossiculoplasty, laryngeal disorders, and thyroid surgery, and has presented numerous oral presentations and case reports at national and international congresses.
