How Much Jawline Filler Do I Need? A Guide to ml and Results
“How many ml do I need?” is one of the first questions patients ask about jawline filler. It’s an important question, because the amount of filler affects both the result and the price. The honest answer is that it depends on your face. But there are clear patterns, and in this guide I’ll explain what different amounts can achieve.
Why the Amount Matters
The jawline is a large area, running from the angle of the jaw below the ear to the chin, on both sides of the face. A small amount of filler spread across this area won’t make much difference. Too much, on the other hand, can make the lower face look heavy or artificial. The goal is the right amount for your face, not the largest or the smallest.
Chin Filler: How Much?
- 1 ml: refines the chin shape and adds subtle projection. Ideal for a slightly small chin.
- 2 ml: a noticeable improvement in chin projection and profile balance.
- More than 2 ml: sometimes needed for a very receding chin, usually over two sessions. If you need much more, a chin implant may be a better option.
Jawline Filler: How Much?
- 2 ml: a subtle improvement in jaw definition, often focused on the angle of the jaw.
- 3–4 ml: the most common amount. A clear, natural definition of the jawline on both sides.
- 5–6 ml: a sharper, more sculpted jaw, often chosen by men or patients with larger faces.
- More than 6 ml: usually built up over two sessions for a controlled, natural result.
Men vs Women
Men usually need more filler. Their faces are larger, and the goal is a wider, more angular jaw and a strong, square chin. A typical male treatment is 4–8 ml for jaw and chin together.
Women usually want a slimmer, more tapered V-shaped lower face. A typical female treatment is 3–5 ml for jaw and chin together.
Other Factors That Affect the Amount
- Your starting point: a very soft jaw needs more filler than a jaw that only needs refinement
- Skin thickness: thicker skin may need more product to show definition
- Age: older patients may need more filler to replace volume lost with age
- Product: firmer fillers, such as Juvederm Volux, can give more definition with less volume
Should I Do It All at Once?
For large amounts, I often recommend two sessions, about four weeks apart. This allows the tissue to adapt, gives a more natural result and lets us fine-tune the shape. It also avoids the “overfilled” look.
How Much Does It Cost?
Because the price depends on the number of ml, knowing how much you need helps you plan. You can see the price per ml and typical totals on my jawline and chin filler cost in Turkey page.
