Botox Cost Turkey 2026: Prices, Results and What to Expect
Botox is the world’s most popular aesthetic treatment, and for good reason. In just a few minutes, it softens forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet, giving the face a fresher, more rested look without surgery. Every year, thousands of international patients search for botox cost Turkey because Istanbul offers experienced doctors, original products and prices far below those in the UK, Europe and the United States.
I am Op. Dr. Akın Şahin, a European Board certified ENT, head and neck and facial plastic surgeon in Istanbul. I perform every botox injection in my practice personally, with one clear goal: a natural result that still lets you smile, frown and express yourself. In this guide, I explain how botox in Turkey works, who it suits, what to expect after treatment and what it really costs in 2026.
What Is Botox?
Botox is the best-known brand name for botulinum toxin type A, a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscles it is injected into. In aesthetic medicine, tiny, precise doses are used to soften wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions. Botox has been used safely in medicine for more than 30 years and is approved for cosmetic use in Europe, the United States and Turkey.
Botox works by blocking the nerve signals that tell a muscle to contract. When the muscle relaxes, the skin above it smooths out, and the lines caused by frowning, squinting or raising your eyebrows become softer or disappear. The effect is local and temporary: only the treated muscles relax, and normal movement gradually returns after a few months.
Besides the original Botox brand, there are other approved botulinum toxins, such as Dysport and Xeomin. They work in the same way, with small differences in how they spread and how long they last. In my practice, I use only original, sealed products from trusted suppliers, and I choose the brand and dose according to your face and your goals. Botox is different from dermal fillers: fillers add volume, while botox relaxes muscles. You can read about fillers on my lip filler cost in Turkey page.
Why Are Botox Injections Performed?
The most common reason for botox injections is to treat dynamic wrinkles, the lines that form when we move our face. These include horizontal forehead lines, the vertical frown lines between the eyebrows (often called “11 lines”), and crow’s feet around the eyes. Botox softens these lines and prevents them from becoming deeper over time.
Botox is also used to reshape and refresh the face without surgery. A botox brow lift gently raises the tail of the eyebrows for a more open look. Masseter botox slims a wide, square jaw and relieves teeth grinding. Botox can also soften a gummy smile, lift downturned mouth corners, smooth a dimpled “orange peel” chin and reduce vertical neck bands. Each of these needs a precise technique and a good knowledge of facial anatomy.
Beyond aesthetics, botox has important medical uses. It is one of the most effective treatments for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the underarms, palms and feet, and it is also used for chronic migraine and teeth grinding (bruxism). As a head and neck surgeon, I use botox for both aesthetic and functional reasons, always with the same attention to detail.
Botox for Excessive Sweating: Underarms and Hands
Excessive sweating, medically known as hyperhidrosis, affects around 3–5% of people. It is not caused by heat or exercise; the sweat glands are simply overactive. Many patients tell me they avoid shaking hands, wear only dark clothes or change their shirt several times a day. Sweating botox is one of the most effective and well-studied treatments for this problem.
Underarm botox is the most common form. Botulinum toxin is injected just under the skin of the armpit, where it blocks the nerve signals that activate the sweat glands. The treatment takes about 15–20 minutes, and most patients notice a dramatic reduction in sweating within one week. Hand sweating botox for the palms works in the same way. Because the palms are more sensitive, I use a numbing cream and, if needed, a nerve block to keep the treatment comfortable.
The results of hyperhidrosis botox usually last 6 to 9 months, and sometimes longer, which is longer than wrinkle treatments. There is no downtime, and you can return to work the same day. In Turkey, sweating botox cost is significantly lower than in the UK or US. I explain the treatment in more detail in my article botox for excessive sweating: underarms and hands.
What Causes Facial Wrinkles?
Facial wrinkles have two main causes. Dynamic wrinkles are caused by repeated muscle movement. Every time we smile, frown or raise our eyebrows, the skin folds. When we are young, the skin bounces back. Over the years, the same movement leaves a permanent crease. These are the wrinkles botox for wrinkles treats best.
Static wrinkles, on the other hand, are visible even when the face is at rest. They are caused by the natural aging process: the skin produces less collagen and elastin, becomes thinner and loses its elasticity. Static wrinkles often start as dynamic wrinkles that have deepened over time. Botox can soften them, but deeper static lines may also need fillers, skin boosters or other treatments.
Lifestyle and environment speed up wrinkle formation. Sun exposure is the most important factor, followed by smoking, poor sleep, dehydration, stress and rapid weight changes. Genetics also play a role, which is why some people develop lines in their twenties while others stay smooth into their forties. Starting preventive botox at the right time and protecting your skin from the sun are the best ways to slow down wrinkle formation.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Botox Injections?
A good candidate for botox injections is a healthy adult who is bothered by expression lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows or around the eyes, and who wants a natural, refreshed look. Most of my patients are between 25 and 60. Some want to soften existing lines, while younger patients often choose preventive botox to stop lines from forming in the first place.
You are likely to be a good candidate if your lines become deeper when you move your face, if people often tell you that you look tired, angry or worried when you don’t feel that way, or if you want a subtle lift of your eyebrows. Botox is also an excellent option for men; botox for men usually requires slightly higher doses because the facial muscles are stronger.
Botox is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in patients with certain neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis, during an active skin infection in the treatment area, or if you are allergic to any ingredient of the product. Some medicines, such as certain antibiotics, can also interact with botox. I always review your medical history during the consultation to make sure the treatment is safe for you.
How Are Botox Injections Performed?
Every treatment begins with a botox consultation. I ask you to frown, raise your eyebrows and smile, so I can see how your muscles move and where your lines form. Every face is different, and the number of injection points and units depends on your muscle strength, your anatomy and the result you want. For international patients, the first assessment can be done online through photos and a short video.
The treatment itself is quick. After cleaning the skin, I mark the injection points and inject small amounts of botox with a very fine needle. A typical full-face botox treatment of the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet takes about 10–15 minutes. Most patients don’t need a numbing cream, but I can apply one if you prefer.
There is no downtime, which is why botox is often called a “lunchtime treatment”. You can return to work, meetings or sightseeing straight away. Many international patients combine botox in Istanbul with other treatments, such as fillers or a short holiday, during the same trip.
Botox Injection Recovery Process
The botox recovery process is very simple. Immediately after treatment, you may see small bumps at the injection points, similar to mosquito bites. These disappear within 15–30 minutes. Some patients have mild redness or, occasionally, a small bruise that fades within a few days and can be covered with make-up.
Botox does not work immediately. You’ll start to see the effect after 3–5 days, and the full result appears after about two weeks. This is the right time for a follow-up check. If a small area needs a touch-up, I do it at this stage. I explain the timeline in detail in my article how long does botox last?
To get the best result, follow a few simple rules for the first day. Stay upright for 4 hours after treatment, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area, and avoid intense exercise, saunas, hot baths and alcohol for 24 hours. You can wash your face and apply light make-up the same evening. Most international patients fly home the next day.
Botox Cost Turkey 2026, Price and Packages
Botox cost Turkey depends on the number of areas treated, the amount of product needed and the brand used. In 2026, botox price in my Istanbul practice starts from about $150 for one area, such as the forehead or frown lines. A full upper face botox treatment covering the forehead, frown lines and crow’s feet usually costs $300–$400. Sweating botox for the underarms or palms costs around $250–$450, depending on the area and the number of units.
Compared with other countries, botox in Turkey offers significant savings. In private UK clinics, one area typically costs around £150–£300, and three areas around £300–£450. In the United States, botox is usually priced per unit, and a full upper face treatment often costs $500–$1,000 or more. Sweating botox in the UK and US can cost several times the Turkish price.
When comparing prices, the most important question is not “how cheap?”, but “who will inject, and with what product?”. A very low botox price Istanbul offer can mean diluted or unregistered products, or treatment by an inexperienced injector. In my practice, every treatment is performed personally by me with original, sealed products, and the price includes your consultation, the treatment and a free two-week check-up with touch-up if needed.

Botox Before and After
Botox before and after photos usually show a smoother forehead, softer frown lines and fewer crow’s feet, while the face still looks natural and expressive. The best result is not a “frozen” face, but one that looks rested, relaxed and approachable. People often notice you look better, without being able to say why.
When looking at before-and-after photos, compare them at rest and in motion. A good result reduces the lines when you move your face, but still allows natural expression. Deep static lines may not disappear completely after one treatment, but they usually become much softer, and they continue to improve with regular treatments as the skin is no longer creased every day.
For masseter botox, the before-and-after change appears more gradually. The jawline becomes slimmer over 4–8 weeks as the muscle relaxes. For brow lift botox, the eyebrows look slightly higher and more open. During your consultation, I’m happy to show you photos of patients with similar concerns so you know what to expect.
Botox Reviews and Patient Experiences
Patient botox reviews consistently mention three things: how quick and comfortable the treatment is, how natural the result looks, and how much younger and fresher they feel. Many first-time patients tell me they were worried about looking “frozen” and were relieved to still be able to smile and express themselves normally.
International patients often say how easy it is to fit botox in Turkey into a short trip to Istanbul. The treatment takes less than half an hour, and there is no downtime, so many combine it with sightseeing, business or other aesthetic treatments. The savings compared with home are another common point in their feedback.
When reading reviews, look beyond the star rating. Comments about the doctor’s experience, honest advice, the quality of the product and follow-up care matter most. A doctor who listens to what you want, explains what is realistic and checks your result after two weeks is the best guarantee of a good experience.
Are Botox Injections Permanent?
No, botox is not permanent. The effect on facial wrinkles usually lasts 3 to 4 months. After that, the nerve endings gradually form new connections and the muscles slowly regain their movement. The lines do not come back worse than before; they simply return to how they were before treatment.
How long botox lasts depends on several factors: the area treated, the dose, your muscle strength, metabolism and lifestyle. Men and people who exercise intensely often metabolise botox faster. Sweating botox lasts longer, usually 6 to 9 months, and masseter botox often lasts 4 to 6 months. I explain this in detail, along with tips to make your results last longer, in how long does botox last?
The temporary effect is actually an advantage. It allows the treatment to be adjusted as your face changes over time. With regular botox treatments, two to three times a year, many patients find that their lines become softer overall, because the skin is no longer folded every day. Over time, some patients need treatments less often.
Are Botox Injections Painful?
Most patients find botox injections much less painful than they expected. The needles are extremely fine, and each injection takes only a second. Most patients describe the feeling as a small pinch or a mosquito bite, and rate it around 1–3 out of 10.
To keep you comfortable, I can apply a numbing cream or use a cold pack before treatment if you are sensitive to pain. For underarm and especially palm sweating botox, where the skin is more sensitive, I always use a numbing cream and, for the hands, a nerve block can make the treatment almost painless.
After the treatment, you may feel slight tenderness at the injection points for a few hours. Some patients have a mild headache on the first day, which responds well to paracetamol. Serious discomfort is rare, and most patients go straight back to their normal day.
Is There an Age Requirement for Botox Injections?
In my practice, the minimum age for cosmetic botox is 18 years. Before adulthood, the face is still developing, and wrinkle treatment is not appropriate. Medical uses of botox, such as treatment for severe sweating, can be considered in younger patients only in special cases and after a careful medical assessment.
Many patients start preventive botox in their mid-twenties to early thirties, when fine expression lines begin to appear. Small doses at this stage can stop lines from becoming deep creases later. There is no need to start earlier if you don’t have visible lines.
There is no upper age limit. Many patients in their fifties, sixties and beyond enjoy natural results from botox, often combined with fillers or skin treatments. For older patients, I use doses that soften lines while keeping a natural, expressive face. What matters most is not your age, but your health and your expectations.
